Emails, letters, and cards from Humber Fashion Arts and Business students:
Good afternoon Jennifer, I wanted to write to you personally to thank you for everything you have done for me through my journey at Humber. You were not just an amazing mentor but I found a really good friend in you. You lifted me and made me believe in myself when I was so new to this country and was absolutely lost. More people should be lucky to get mentors as yourself, who help them become their best self and help them get through the journey successfully. I remember seeing you first day of orientation introducing Infuse magazine, and then actually being a part of the magazine. Infuse has become such a big part of me now and has helped me get to know so many people in the industry; and then you gave me another chance with trusting me to be the styling lead for the fashion show, even though it was stressful I loved ever bit of it and knowing you were there as a support system made things easier. But I have all reasons to believe this is not the end but the beginning of a fantastic and enriching relationship, a relationship I hold very dear to me and value a lot. Thanks a lot for being you! Love, Sanjana Nagi❤
Hi Jennifer! Hope your day is going well! I just wanted to let you know that I had my Basic Excel Exam today... and guess what! I got a 93.3% on the exam. Kelly was really proud of me and very helpful, and I feel really good about myself right now. I just wanted to email you and let you know that my goal is to work just as hard and complete the rest of the exams with that high of a grade as well. Thanks for all your help, and thanks for the motivation Brooke Stevens
Hello Jennifer, Many thanks for the lovely invitation and thank you for the privilege and honor of working with you on the Editorial Board. I hope you all have a fun-filled memorable celebration and I look forward to keeping in touch with you through the semester break. A thousand thanks for all you have done, both seen and more especially acts unseen. You inspire by your quiet example and kindness...:=)) With respectful regards, Cecilia Loretta Dule

Hello Jennifer That is so outstanding, this is by far the most personal & welcoming program I've talked to, which i appreciate. I currently live in waterloo ontario, I went to Eastwood Colligate for the intergrated arts program majoring in visual art. Hopefully that will come in handy for some aspects of the program! Thanks for taking the time to answer all my questions! -Tess Morgan

Hey Jen, I feel like teachers can never get enough thanks for what they do for their students. I just wanted to say again, thank you so much for giving me an amazing recommendation for La Vie En Rose. I remember when I was in George Brown college I've always said I wanted to be a celebrity stylist or a visual merchandiser. Thank you for helping me achieve one of dream goals I thought I would never achieve. There are not enough words in the dictionary to put how appreciative I am of you. I am so excited to be starting on Monday June 12th from 9am - 5pm at my new job. See you at convocation, Amanda Seto
Dear Jennifer Thank you so much for such warm wishes and we miss you like anything. Attending school was more fun under your supervision. I can't wait to see you again. Thank you so much for everything :) Regards, Zivran
Happy Holidays Jennifer, You have been nothing less that a vision and high source of inspiration for me with how you conduct yourself with style and grace. Every time I speak to you it makes me feel more confident and comfortable and I can't thank you enough for being the amazing mentor and professor that you have been. I look forward to working with you the coming year as I have much to learn from you.
May each day of the New Year bring you pleasant surprises like the curled petals of a flower that spread sweet fragrance slowly as it unfolds layer by layer. Regards, Sanjana Nagi
Dear Jennifer, That warms my heart tremendously to read your email! It's so utterly kind I almost don't know what to say! ♡ A short update: easy-peasy as 1,2,3, I have dropped Colour Theory and Computer Applications, and luckily- I don't need to pay my tuition until February! Which is great news for us!
Also, I will be writing about my high school teacher as you prompted. I think I will be writing about my Art Class teacher- since there's such a huge story behind him. Being his student, and even being accepted into the high school of my dreams back then. I will never forget Ms. Longuet... ♡ (the guidance counselor that I have mentioned to you on our meeting day) Thank you so much for your time! ♡ Yours Truly, Dana Dalgetty.
Hello Jennifer, Our little meeting today was a lovely one and I am very grateful for your help and guidance! I will surely make a visit to you in the future. Thank you again! ♡ P.S, it's a truly wonderful thing to share the likes of pink and pearls with someone for a change! Yours Truly, Dana Dalgetty.
Dear Professor Dawson, I am enjoying my time at the Levi's Canada Distribution Centre (Warehouse). I get along with all my fellow employees and am respected by management. I happened to meet the SVP of Logistics for Levi Strauss and expressed my interest in wanting to get into the sales office. He told me to contact the GM before I leave end of August. I could potentially complete my co-op placement there, which would be very advantageous. I made sure to connect with him on LinkedIn. Thank you again for the opportunity to be the face of the Fashion Arts and Business Program at Humber. I am very grateful for your consideration Ms. Dawson. My family was very impressed also, haha. Enjoy your adventure in Nepal Ms.Dawson! I am very excited to hear about your time when you return. It has been such a pleasure having you as our program coordinator and I am looking forward to being a student in your "Event Planning and Budgeting" class this Fall. Safe Travels Ms. Dawson, Sincerely, Christopher
Dear Alvina Cassiani I’d like to thank you, most sincerely, for all of the help you’ve given me since working for Infuse Humber magazine. This exciting and fantastic opportunities was a God sent. I especially appreciate all of the time you’ve taken from your own work to help our team and to ensure that we have the process knowledge and tools we needed to do a great job each week. I'm very grateful to have a mentor like Jennifer Dawson. She’s been our rock and a true visionary and most defiantly a great friend, I'm truly honored and humble to have such a great and powerful woman to look up too, and for that I thank you Alvina. I’m extremely fortunate, and I like to thank you for your beautiful gifts, and for your support. I will forever be grateful for the knowledge and skills that I have gained at Humber College, and the amazing team of faculties. Thank you! Sincerely Lauren Stevens
I know how much you love to keep "nice emails" so I decided to write you one instead of texting you. Words can not explain how thankful I am to have a mentor like you. You always push me to be the best person I can be and, I can't thank you enough for it. Your encouragement genuinely means the world to me. I am so thankful you invited me for fashion week to represent humber. I genuinely had such an amazing time and I don't regret taking time off work for it. I've never sat in front row before so it was a special experience for me. You've honestly reminded me of why I want to be in fashion and, how important it is to stay in the loop with the Canadian fashion industry. Also I'm so happy to have met a new friend Seeret. She's such a nice person with such a kind heart and I'm so happy she's helping with the fashion show. I can't wait for the humber fashion show. And I look forward to see all the designers you guys get for the show. Again, Thank you so much 🙈💕💕💕💕 Amanda Seto
