I believe that teaching isfundamentally about engaging the mind. It is about introducing students to a conceptual framework with which they can begin to, in a deep and profound way, make sense of, understand, and actively produce and alter the dynamic and social world they shape and which shapes them. Teaching involves inspiring students to reflect intelligently about diverse sociological issues.
In my teaching career I have taught a diverse audience of students and I try to cater my classes to different learning styles. I like to incorporate collaboration in my teaching methods and enjoy working with other schools to create multidisciplinary learning for all students. I think the more collaborative the classes the more it feels like real world experiences for our future graduates. In addition, because we have international students I also like to think of creative ways to engage students to think globally about their classes. Education helps us broaden our mind, gives us knowledge, and it acts as a source, which teaches us about past, present, and it helps to predict the future. Education not only provides us with a set of skills, but it also teaches us about morals, duties, and ethics. As educators we have the ability to shape the minds of the future. In my role as a Professor I keep very much involved in the industry to remain current as fashion is constantly changing with social media and technology.
I do not take my responsibility as a Professor lightly, and l can sum up my personal teaching philosophy in three words: inspire, collaborate, and internationalize.
